# Layouts

(Mail) Layouts allow you to define a standard layout for emails. This can for exampla be the header & footer. Email layouts are used to enhance conformity and to reduce the work when design rules change within your organisation.

Layouts can be managed via Layouts, on the Mail - menu item:

The Layouts overview shows all current layouts.

## Layouts General Settings

Edit a Layout template gives these options:

* Name : enter the name for this layout 
* Is default layout : Select 'yes' to set as default layout for new email templates or definitions 
* Body : Enter the contents of the body email. The text of each email is contained in the placeholder #REPLACE\_EmailContent#, so that must be included, or the emails will only contain the layout.
