ACL Scopes Overview

The table below provides a complete overview of all available ACL scopes and their purpose.

Scope

Description

Action

Controls access to Action forms shown in the top menu of an object. Only Use rights are supported. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Action scope

Compare versions

Determines whether the Compare versions functionality is available. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Compare versions scope

Core data

Groups access to built‑in object fields such as Name, Phase, Owner, Manager, Contract data, and General tab fields. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Core datascope

Create new

Controls which Personas can create a new object from the template. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Create new scope

Custom

Reserved for advanced or special ACL use cases, often combined with custom scripting. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Custom scope

Custom actor

Controls access for template‑defined custom actors. Includes support for All unspecified actors. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Custom actor scope

Data part

Controls View and Edit access to individual data parts (fields). Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Data part scope

Data part value

Controls access to specific selection values of a data part sourced from a datastore. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Data part value scope

Data tab

Controls access to tabs within the Fields section. Part‑level ACLs override tab‑level ACLs. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Data tab scope

Document

Controls access to documents, including View, Add, Edit, Replace, Rename, and Delete. Refer to chapter Adding an ACL for Document scope

Document part

Duplicate

Log
