🚧Access Control Lists (ACL)

Access Control Lists (ACLs) define who may view, edit, create or otherwise interact with specific elements of an object. ACLs provide fine-grained permission control across fields (parts), documents, notes, review cycles and other functional components.

ACLs are configured per scope. Examples of scopes include notes, documents and parts. Additional scopes exist for compare versions, custom actors, document parts, quality notes, review cycle logs and review cycle types. For these scopes, upgrade scripts automatically create ACL entries that mimic the legacy access model.

Permissions are always granted to Personas, which include:

  • SSP Roles (system roles)

  • Template-defined custom actors

Scopes make it possible to fine-tune access rights, and in some cases, access can be refined further using JavaScript-based conditions.
