Add default ACLs
When creating a new template, no ACLs are created automatically. As the number of available ACL scopes has grown significantly, manually configuring all ACLs can be time-consuming. To simplify this process, the Add defaults button is available at the bottom of the ACL tab.
Add defaults options
Click Add defaults to open the following options:
Read Adds default read-only ACLs for all applicable scopes.
Write Adds default read and edit ACLs for all applicable scopes. β οΈ Note: Adding Write ACLs does not automatically include Read ACLs; both are created as part of the Write setup.
Create Adds the two ACLs that control object creation:
Create new
Duplicate These are the only ACLs that determine whether users can create new objects from the template.
Cancel Closes the menu without making any changes.
Assign Personas
After selecting Read, Write, Create or Cancel, you are prompted to assign one or more Personas to these ACLs.
Select one or more Personas
Choose Everyone to quickly grant basic access to all users
Final options
After selecting Personas, choose one of the following:
Add only missing ACLs Adds default ACLs only for scopes that do not yet have any ACL defined. β Recommended when completing an existing ACL configuration.
Add all default ACLs Adds default ACLs for all scopes, even if ACLs already exist. β Use with caution, as this may override intended fine-grained configurations.
Notes
Default ACLs apply only to access within an object. Rights to create new objects are handled separately via the Create new and Duplicate scopes.
After adding default ACLs, you can fine-tune access per scope, item, or Persona as needed.
