Copy a Part

The Copy Part button allows you to quickly duplicate an existing part from the current template or from another template. This feature helps save time when similar parts are used across multiple templates, ensuring consistent configuration and naming conventions.

When you click the Copy Part button, a dialog appears where you can select the source template and part to copy from.

1. Default selection By default, the current template is preselected as the source. This allows you to copy an existing part within the same template quickly.

2. Copy from another template You can copy a part from another template. To choose a different template, first remove the pre-filled template name manually from the selector field. Once the text has been cleared, you can start typing to search for any other available template in the system. After selecting a template, the list of its parts will be displayed.

3. Select the part to copy Choose the desired part from the selected template. The system will automatically copy all settings, including type, validation rules, and visibility options.

4. New internal name When copying a part, the internal name is copied exactly as it exists in the source part.

   • The generated name can still be edited manually before saving.

   • All other copied properties (label, help text, type, etc.) remain identical to the source part and can be adjusted as needed.
